Sometimes   ( 1977 )

Sometimes, I got it all worked out

where I'll be, if you're with me tomorrow

and sometimes, life looks so easy done

the whys become the cries of other minds

but this time I gotta own up

now I'm standin' on my own

sometimes things don't work out at all

Sometimes, I've tried to fool myself

livin' free could ease a lotta pain

and sometimes, when the night is runnin' off

I'm lookin' for the sunshine through the rain

But this time....

Oh, I know you feel the problem

isn't yours, it's mine

but to steal the only lifeline

in my lifetime isn't kind

Sometimes, I see the garden change

the dereliction fades, my eyes can lie

and sometimes, I see our kids out there

yes I know it's strange

I brush away my tears, the grass is high

and this time I gotta own up

now I'm standin' on my own

sometimes things don't work out at all

Empty swing
