The Man At The Window    (1989)

They've been waltzing together

to their own kind of music

sometimes in synchrony, sometimes they fail

Through a fast fifty years

love rages, love whispers

Through calm seas and hurricanes safely they sail

He was her prince from the coastline of Angus

She was his jewel from a Clyde valley crown

I see him now, the man at the window,

I hear her voice, the angel disguised

I know him now, the man at the window,

she takes my hand,

the lady who waits at the door....

They've been weaving together

a dream for tomorrow

children and grandchildren carry their thread

Through a union of selflessness all our directions

clearly unfold as they guide us ahead

He was her prince....
