Carol Fyfe

Carol   (1992)

It's been a little while and Carol I've tried

to wish it wasn't true someone as young as you

should never have died

but I talk to some of your friends and Carol, it's strange

it matters not so much how long you touched our lives

for you have remained

I saw your eyes today in your little girl

and know she'll learn in time how you made living rhyme

before your flag could unfurl

so Carol I'll close for now wishing I'd known

more than a fleeting look a flower that April took

yet still blossoms and grows
